Our School

This is our school- 88 SOU “Dimitar Popnikolov”.

LOCATION: It is in Sofia, in   Ovcha Kupel neighbourhood

The patron of our school is Dimitar Popnikolov. He was born in 1880. He  was a Bulgarian writer  and publisher. He was involved in Bulgarian education.

The school was found in 1994. Our director Mrs Milena Peneva is the second director of the school. When the school started working, there were 403 students from 1 to 8 grade, with 21 teachers. Now there are 1100 students and 74 teachers in the school.

Priority in our school politic is learning  foreign languages, information technology and art.

Traditions

Thracian rituals such as the Zarezan, Kukeri and Martenitza are to this day kept alive in the modern Bulgarian culture.
